F**k It: The Ultimate Spiritual Way, by John C. Parkin, is one that I recommend to people All. The. Time. because I just love how fun and irreverent it is.  And how true.  I grabbed this book as it resonated with my own experience - at a time in my life when things were pretty gray, I remember standing at the bus stop, full of worry about whatever, and I remember thinking to myself "Fuck It".  Fuck it, just let it all go, and who gives a shit.  And I felt such a peace and presence welling up within me.  Such an acceptance of the present moment and a releasing of all the worries.

The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future

Because yes, you CAN start your own business without a lot of money.

Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives by Brian L. Weiss, M.D.

This book is my bible, and is the book that opened the door for the path that I am now on.  I like to think of Dr. Brian Weiss as the gateway drug to reincarnation.  He comes from a very non-woo woo background - he was a highly respected psychiatrist, who went to Yale and Columbia University, who could be called a Jewish agnostic, who worshiped science most of all.  But then.  Then he met a patient, "Carol", who rocked his entire belief system (read the whole story in his can't-put-down book Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives Many Lives, Many Masters), and he eventually had to come out of the spiritual closet.

Making a Living Without a Job, revised edition: Winning Ways for Creating Work That You Love

I stumbled across this book at my local library, and it gave me the oomph to get out there and start my own business.

It IS possible.  And Barbara tells you just how to do it.

Your Soul's Plan: Discovering the Real Meaning of the Life You Planned Before You Were Born

You've dealt with some shitty shit in this life, I bet.  And you know the old "there's a reason for everything" adage?  Well, this book will help you figure out what that reason is.

Perhaps you've already heard of Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity + Sleep Wristband.  I got this for my father for Christmas - I'm always at a bit of a loss as to what to get him, because he always just buys what he wants for himself.  So it becomes this game of figuring out what he doesn't even know that he wants.

And I nailed it with the FitBit.  And if I didn't have an iPhone with the apps that I use, I'd get one for myself.

Simply put:  it allows you to track your steps and your sleep, without you having to do anything but wear it on your wrist, and log on to your account every now and again.  Simple enough for my dad to use, he loves it - and finds that it is motivating him to move more.

So, if you're looking for a way to track your activity, check it out!
